Region Profile and Information baseArt. 24, par. 1 of the town planning law of the Veneto Region (23rd April 2004, no. 11) states that the Regional Territorial Coordination Plan “collects the data and information needed to outline a region profile” that is “the integrated system of information and data necessary to understand the themes tackled by the territorial and town planning instruments”. The region profile is therefore a series of data, information and maps aimed at outlining the socio-economic, territorial and environmental context. According to the profile, the analyses and studies are carried out. These lead to the definition of goals and support the strategic choices of the Plan itself that are backed by means of reference indicators representing the goal relevance by singling out and describing the dynamics underway in the different sectors. The PTRC region profile contains a set of indicators - identified in the relevant document in the Regional Council Decision no. 1324 dated 26th May 2008 meant to support the strategic choices set forth in the PTRC “System of goals” (shown in the Preliminary Document as provided for by the Regional Council Decision no. 2587 dated 7th August 2007). Such indicators will describe, within the context of the procedures foreseen for the Strategic Environmental Assessment, the environmental dynamics underway in the region, also considering the monitoring management of the environmental impact of the plan itself. The creation of the PTRC region profile stems from the interaction between the SIT (Geographic Information System), the SISTAR (Regional Statistical System) and the SIRA (ARPAV Regional Environmental Information System) and is developed in line with the features of the SėGoVe (Veneto Government Information System).
