Interregional Coordination Table

The Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardia, Piemonte and Veneto regions and the provinces of Trento and Bolzano have resolved to open the Interregional table for sustainable land development of the Po valley macro-region, named “Adria Po Valley”.
This table aims to find a consistent system and to boost the competitiveness of the involved regions within the new European scenario, in a multi-regional perspective and within the territorial planning instruments.

For this purpose on 15^th February 2007 the Venice Charter was signed, through which the regions committed to:

• promote, in an ongoing manner, confrontation initiatives on outstanding inter-regional themes;
• acknowledge, during the preparation of their respective regional territorial planning instruments, the interregional table as a confrontation moment for a better knowledge exchange on the specific territories;
• acknowledge the interregional table as a way of sharing a common position within the ambit of the preparation of theTerritorial Agenda of the European Union;
• acknowledge the activity carried out within the Metrex network as a cooperation instrument, assimilating its results and supporting it to promote the Po Valley macro-region at a European level;
• support the promotion of initiatives in the field of transnational and transboundary cooperation, share and spread project results;
• establish a technical table supporting the interregional table and providing it with the necessary materials and papers; the secretary’s tasks of the interregional table are carried out by the Veneto region;
• start the interregional table works scheduling a meeting to be held in Milan on 8^th June 2007 to allow confrontation and develop a common international orientation.

During the following months several meetings between the Regions were held in order to concretely start works.
